Who is Stephen King?
Stephen King is an American writer and novelist from Maine. Specializing in horror, King has also been known for his work in genres in science fiction, fantasy, apocalyptic and crime fiction. He has written over fifty novels in his lifetime, in addition to many short stories. His work has been influential to horror as a genre, and he is considered to be the most influential horror writer, second to none except perhaps H.P. Lovecraft, whose works also happened to have influenced King's.
In addition to his large list of works, many of his writings have been adapted for film and television. Notable examples include Carrie, The Stand, The Shining, and The Shawshank Redemption. The latter film is sometimes regarded as one of the best films of all time.
