Who searched for the Fountain of Youth and found Florida? Ponce de León did. Not only was Ponce de León the first governor of Puerto Rico, he went on to sail the Gulf Stream and discover what is now Florida. Readers will learn about how Ponce de León discovered an island full of tortugas (turtles). The Dry Tortugas Islands are now a United States National Park.
